2025 BMW M4 CS Arrives With 543 HP, Lots of CFRP, and 'Accessible' $123,500 Tag

So, it's not yet time to meet the electrified high-performance business sedan and its practical station wagon counterpart – although BMW did unleash the M Performance Parts for the 5 Series Touring, and those make a regular 5 station wagon pretty close to the M5 Touring in terms of styling. Anyway, if the BMW M3 CS was any indication, of course, we are now blessed with a BMW M4 CS, too.

In a few words, the high-performance coupe rocks 543 horsepower, a zero to 60 mph (96 kph) time of 3.2 seconds, and also a starting MSRP of $124,675 (with destination and handling). Obviously, it's not exactly affordable – the 2025 M4 Coupe starts from $79,100 (plus destination) with 473 hp, the M4 Competition Coupe is $83,200 with 503 hp, and the 2025 M4 Competition xDrive Coupe has 523 hp for $88,300. Then you jump directly to $123,500 but only soar to 543 hp with the M4 CS.

However, the big price tag with subtle enhancements was not necessarily a surprise because there's also a BMW M3 CS as the four-door counterpart was unveiled as a limited-production series last year at the 24 Hours of Daytona. Now BMW M also announces the all-new 2025 BMW M4 CS equipped with the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six, bespoke chassis tuning, as well as ample weight reduction through carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) parts.

So, BMW says the M4 CS is expertly "equipped to attack the hills, curves, and braking zones of the world's best circuits as well as highways and backroads." Naturally, to try and justify the hefty price tag (a 670-hp C8 Chevy Corvette Z06 starts from around $113k, for example), BMW has added "advanced equipment and exclusive design features without sacrificing the four-seat layout and everyday practicality." Indeed, at least you can enjoy the M4 CS with a group of friends or family, whereas a C8 is just for you and the significant other or a friend.

Mercedes-AMG will soon have something to say about that when it unleashes the Mercedes-AMG CLE 63 and especially the 63 S E Performance hybrid. Until then, BMW has the red carpet's spotlight as it's scheduled to debut in front of a double live audience – on Friday, May 10, it will try to wow the crowds simultaneously in the US at the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race at Laguna Seca and in Europe at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps World Endurance Car race.

After that, order books will open at the end of May, and production is scheduled to commence alongside the rest of the M4 family at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing in July 2024. Naturally, the new M4 CS is not just another M4 Competition Coupe with M xDrive, although it has "all of the performance, design, and equipment upgrades introduced for model year 2025." Instead, it's an intermediate step above it on the way to the flagship limited-run BMW M4 CSL. By the way, the Bavarian automaker has already set out to give us samples of the M4 CS prowess – they have an official, notarized lap time of 7:21.99 at the Nürburgring's 12.9-mile Nordschleife circuit – "the ultimate barometer for all BMW M cars."
