The Japanese automaker has finally announced the first pricing details about the eagerly-awaited fourth-gen N400 Toyota Tacoma, with the all-new i-Force model almost $3k more expensive than the current version of the best-selling mid-size pickup truck.
Toyota has had a slew of important releases in North America this year – the Prius 'Hybrid Reborn' Prime plug-in hybrid, the 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid, more Nightshade special editions than ever, GR limited series – GR86 Trueno, GR Corolla Circuit, GR Supra 45th Anniversary, and a lot more. It also had some major introductions like the 2024 Grand Highlander, N400 Tacoma, 2024 Land Cruiser (Prado or 250 in specific markets), and the 2025 Camry plus 2025 Crown Signia crossover SUV.

For sure, one of the superstars was the all-new fourth-generation N400 Tacoma – a model that has "dominated the mid-size pickup truck segment for nearly two decades." Now we also know how much it costs "to set a new standard for modern trucks." As such, the "completely redesigned and reimagined" Tacoma is starting from $31,500 (plus a $1,495 destination fee) with the standard i-Force 2.4-liter turbocharged mill with up to 278 hp and 317 lb-ft. Even better, Toyota just announced that first deliveries will start in December when the model arrives across nationwide dealerships.

Unfortunately for those seeking to go hybrid with the new Tacoma, the more powerful i-Force Max with 326 hp is expected to reach showrooms starting next spring. Pricing details will also be confirmed closer to the start of deliveries. The 2024 Tacoma is built on Toyota's TNGA-F global truck platform shared with the Tundra, Sequoia, and upcoming Land Cruiser, among others. As such, it boasts excellent workhorse capabilities, including a maximum towing capacity of 6,500 lbs. on SR5, TRD PreRunner, and XtraCab grades with the i-Force mill, while the maximum payload capacity increases to 1,710 lbs. for i-Force Max models.

Meanwhile, the bed has an optional 400W AC inverter outlet for the gasoline model, while hybrid versions raise output to 2400W AC. Most grades will feature the 278 horsepower rating, but the entry-level SR's powertrain is limited to 228 horsepower and 243 lb.-ft. of torque, and there's also a six-speed intelligent manual transmission (iMT) available for purists – that one is rated at 270 hp and 310 lb.-ft. of torque.

Dubbed the "ultimate adventure machine," Toyota's Tacoma has up to a 34.4-degree approach, 26.1-degree breakover, and 26.1-degree departure angles – the maximum ground clearance is also 11.5 inches on TRD Off-Road models. By the way, if you want the MSRPs for splashing out on other grades, Toyota has made public only the SR, SR5, TRD PreRunner, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, and Limited – that's because the Trailhunter and TRD Pro are both available only with the hybrid i-Force Max.

Anyway, here it goes: the 2024 Tacoma SR is $31,500, as we said before, followed by the $36,200 SR5, $38,100 TRD PreRunner, $39,400 TRD Sport, $41,800 TRD Off-Road, and $52,100 for the Limited trim level. Cool or not?
