Toyota is doing great in America after the first three months of the year - General Motors says they're "on plan," but the statistics show that the Japanese company is relentlessly chasing them and has quickly closed the distance.
So, after tallying the performance during Q1, General Motors is down 1.5% year-over-year to 594,233 units in the US, while Toyota has jumped more than 20% during the first three months of the year to 565,098 vehicles. That's less than 35k between them – and the Japanese could easily close the gap with any of their latest introductions, like the 2024 Tacoma and Land Cruiser or the upcoming 2025 Camry sedan and 2025 Crown Signia crossover SUV.

Of course, it helps when there's much hype around a model – like was the case with the double introduction of the 2024 Lexus GX 550 and the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser siblings. Now a mid-size offering, the latter is much cheaper (starting from $56k) than its full-size predecessor, and Toyota surely hopes it will be a very good alternative, alongside the upcoming new 4Runner, against the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco.

However, it could be argued that Toyota might want to think about increasing the personalization choices for the legendary Land Cruiser – it is only available in three grades, and the flagship First Edition is a limited offer while supplies of the 5k-unit production schedule last. Additionally, the base Land Cruiser 1958 trim is only offered with three colors, and the $61,950 Land Cruiser trim has seven of them, including a couple with a fashionable dual-tone atmosphere: Trail Dust with a Grayscape roof and Heritage Blue with the same Grayscape addition.

Well, that's still too few options, especially since you also can't upgrade the wheels to anything larger than 20 inches. No worries, though, as the aftermarket world doesn't sleep – and neither is the imaginative realm of digital car content creators lying dormant either. As such, the latter is always ready and willing to help the former decide on fresh ideas for personalization.

More precisely, Nikita Chuicko, the virtual artist better known as kelsonik on social media, loves both the new GX and Toyota's sibling and thinks now is the right CGI time to play with the 2024 Land Cruiser after doing so on more than one occasion with the Lexus. The Toyota cousin gets the Wind Chill Pearl body color from the official palette, but this time around, it's a dual-tone digital offering with a black roof to mix and match with the big chunks of lower-body black plastic cladding.

It looks wonderful because the pixel master also blacked out the Toyota script of the grille and the front and rear skid plates and also added a black trim element stretching across the tailgate between the taillights. Last but not least, the fashionable demeanor is complimented by the use of much larger concave-style aftermarket wheels. Cool or not?
