With its predecessor making a splash in Europe, the second-generation 2024 Toyota C-HR wants to build on its success. It looks like an evolution of the old crossover, though it brings improvements in every aspect.
But you already knew that, as it premiered a few months ago. The big news here is that Toyota has started accepting orders for the new C-HR in the United Kingdom, where the first cars will arrive at dealers in December, and deliveries will commence in January.

The Japanese automaker offers it in five different trim levels called the Icon, Design, Excel, GR Sport, and Premiere Edition. The first three pack a 1.8-liter electrified powertrain, and the latter two use a 2.0-liter hybrid. Toyota says the plug-in hybrid option will follow sometime next year.

Priced from £31,290 ($38,477) on the road, the entry-level Icon comes with 17-inch alloys, electric side mirrors, an electric tailgate, cloth upholstery, a 7-inch digital display, and an 8-inch infotainment system, wired Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, and cloud-based navigation. It also features a wireless charging pad, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, smart entry, rain-sensing wipers, and a plethora of safety gear.

Upgrading to the Design means paying at least £34,685 ($42,652). This trim level costs new BMW X1 money, with the (larger) German crossover starting at £34,365 ($42,258) in the UK. The C-HR Design adds 18-inch wheels, rear privacy windows, parking sensors, heated and ventilated front seats, larger dual 12.3-inch screens, and others. The panoramic sunroof and bi-tone paint finish are options for this grade.

Choosing the Excel will get you 19-inch alloys, a bi-tone exterior look, suede-effect upholstery, front sports seats, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. This trim level also comes with the 360-degree panoramic view monitor, adaptive high beams, front cross-traffic alert, and lane change assist on top of the lesser models, and can be optionally specified with a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, a digital key, and a JBL audio. Pricing starts at £38,150 ($46,913).

Toyota is asking at least £40,645 ($49,981) for the GR Sport version of the all-new 2024 C-HR, which has special styling inside and out and rides on 20-inch wheels. The JBL sound system and the head-up display are standard here, and it can be ordered with the Premium Pack that adds the panoramic roof, digital key, head-up display, and others as an option. The Safety Pack is also available on this trim level.

Topping the 2024 C-HR subcompact crossover lineup is the Premiere Edition, which kicks off at £42,720 ($52,532). This version comes with all the standard and optional gizmos of the Excel, adding leather upholstery and an exclusive bi-tone exterior look that mixes Sulfur metallic with Astral Black roof and rear quarters.
