The Porsche Macan EV is here, and we can't help being amazed that the launch color of the zero-emission crossover is a shade of metallic lavender. Porsche calls that in a sophisticated manner: Provence. And those who have already fallen in love with it must know that it is not on the list of the most expensive paintworks available in the lineup.
Porsche knows exactly how to turn heads, and they nailed it once again with the second-generation Macan, launching it in the Provence shade.
When it comes to paintworks for the Macan, Porsche devides them into four categories. There is the Contrasts category that includes the white and the black, which are the only ones included in the price of the crossover, which starts at $81,700 in the United States.
Upper in the range, there is the Shades category, comprising four tones, each costing $700. It is the Jet Black metallic, the Volcano Grey Metallic, the Dolomite Silver, and Ice Grey, also in metallic finish.
Then there is the Dreams category, and that is where we wanted to go because this is the one that includes the Provence, alongside the Gentian Blue, Frozen Blue, and Papaya Metallic. The Provence is a shade of lavender, a combination of light purple and pink, that customers can order for $1,250.

Porsche chose this color for the official unveiling of the model and it does not come as a surprise. The German carmaker teased this shade by showing sketches of the model's design two days before the official presentation. The front and rear were sketched on a background that had the exact same color.
The most expansive paintworks available for the all-new Porsche Macan are those in the Legends category. Oak Green Metallic Neo, Copper Ruby Metallic, and Aventurine Green Metallic are included in it. One of these colors has to be selected if you want to see the looks of the most expensive Porsche Macan that money can buy.
All these paintworks are there to match the figures that the electric crossover comes with. The most potent of the versions is the Turbo Electric. It comes with a dual-motor setup and all-wheel drive for a total system output of 576 horsepower or 630 horsepower in Overboost with Launch Control, plus 833 pound-feet of torque. These are enough for a run from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 3.1 seconds, which makes it 0.36 seconds faster than the 911 (992) GT3, and a top speed of 161 mph.
Riding on the new 800-volt PPE architecture, the model is equipped with a 100 kWh battery with fast charging capabilities. It can drive as far as 367 miles (591 kilometers) before it needs to be plugged in again.
