The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe caused quite a commotion when it was unveiled last summer. The model, with its monolith-like design, is now preparing to set wheels on American soil. The seven-seater will soon be available for order, with prices starting at $33,950.
That is how much customers will have to pay for the SUV powered by the 2.5-liter turbocharged engine, mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The engine generates 277 horsepower (281 metric horsepower) and 311 pound-feet (422 Newton meters) of torque.

This is the first variant to be sold in America, available starting this spring. The hybrid version will arrive in the US later on, with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, working alongside an electric motor, for a total system output of 231 horsepower (235 metric horsepower). The hybrid Santa Fe will get the six-speed automatic transmission.

All trims will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive. Hyundai will roll out an XRT version, which will come with higher ground clearance (approximately 1.3 inches more/33 millimeters ) and 30-inch all-terrain tires as standard on unique light alloy wheels with a black finish. The Santa Fe XRT will be available exclusively with the HTRAC AWD and features a towing capacity ranging from 3,500 to 4,500 pounds for a starting price of $40,600.

The Santa Fe has a monolith-like design, with angular lines and straight surfaces. The boxy model grew in every single direction, which translates into more space for all the seven occupants, but also more cargo space. Furthermore, the liftgate opening, which is now nearly 6 inches wider and 2 inches taller than that of the previous generation, makes things simpler. Innovative self-concealing grab handles integrated into the C-pillars offer access to the roof.

The privileged who will sit in the top-of-the-line Calligraphy variant, which starts at $46,500 when powered by the 2.5-liter turbocharged engine in a front-wheel drive layout, will get power-adjustable second-row captain's chairs in either a six- or a seven-seat layout.

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe comes with quite a long list of standard features. There is a new dual-hinged center console on board, allowing front and rear passengers to access several functions of the vehicle.

The OTA capability allows the Santa Fe's software to be updated over the air with minimal downtime. The navigation is displayed on the 12.3-inch touchscreen, while the driver receives the relevant information on a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are also standard. A dual charging pad and a camera-based digital rearview mirror are also on the menu.

The most affordable all-wheel drive Hyundai Santa Fe starts at $35,750. Meanwhile, the cheapest hybrid customers can buy is the Santa Fe with the SEL trim and four-wheel drive, starting at $36,950.
