Following the official presentation a few months ago, the all-new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is gearing up for launch in North America. The mid-size crossover will celebrate its debut in our market at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 16, with the event being live-streamed at 10:10 AM PT (1:10 PM EST/19:10 CET).
Thanks to its boxy exterior styling with new everything, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe kind of sends Land Rover Defender vibes. It features the brand's new lighting signature at both ends, has squared wheel arches, a straight roofline that is a bit arched towards the rear and is bound to be a home run.

The same applies to the cockpit, which has a futuristic styling. Details surrounding the amenities will be released next week. However, you should look forward to the 12.3-inch infotainment system, an equally-sized digital instrument cluster, and a third display for the HVAC system. It will also get a digital rearview mirror, a wireless charging pad, a UV-C Sterilization Tray in the glovebox to clean smartphones and wallets, and a generous array of safety systems.

Hyundai said the new Santa Fe will become its first vehicle in America to feature a driver monitoring system. On top of that, it will get the usual lane following assist, blind spot assist, forward collision avoidance assist, remote parking, safe exit assist, surround view monitor, and a few other things that will make it more enjoyable during the daily commute. The Korean automaker will detail the safety aids in due course as well, likely during the automotive event scheduled to run until November 27 in the City of Angels.

Power-wise, customers will have a choice of two assemblies. The first one will be a 2.5-liter featuring turbocharging, which produces 277 horsepower (281 ps/207 kW) and 311 pound-feet (422 Nm) of torque. A hybridized powertrain will join it, using a 1.6-liter turbocharged with electric assistance that enjoys 177 hp (180 ps/132 kW) and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) of torque. According to Hyundai, the latter needs 9.5 seconds to hit 62 mph (100 kph), and the former can do it one and a half seconds faster.

At 190.2 inches (4,830 mm) long and 74.8 in (1,900 mm) wide, the new Santa Fe is slightly longer and wider than its predecessor. The wheelbase now measures 110.8 in (2,815 mm) instead of 108.9 in (2,765 mm), so it has more space for backseat occupants. Moreover, it will be available with a third row of seats in America. This option was dropped from our market a few years ago. The trunk space is also bigger as a result of the redesign. But more on everything in less than a week from today, when the model will sit under the spotlight at the LA Auto Show.
