Rick Conti is back with another list of constraints for the 2024 model year Corvette. On this occasion, it appears that GM's carbon-fiber supplier is having a bit of trouble producing the components required for the mid-engine sports car from Bowling Green.
For this order cycle, Detroit's biggest automaker doesn't have any carbon-fiber interior trim for the small block V8-engined Stingray and high-revving Z06. This option bears regular production order code FA5 for both the Stingray and race-bred Z06.

Also listed with zero availability, GM lists the B6P carbon-fiber engine shield, T0G high wing in visible carbon fiber, and T0F high wing in Carbon Flash. The ZZ3 engine appearance package isn't available either. Still, you can order D3V engine bay lighting.

According to Rick Conti, those in line to get a Stingray need to understand that GXA Sea Wolf Gray Metallic is limited to 53 vehicles. In the Z06's case, that would be 10 vehicles. The Q90 Satin Graphite, Q9Y Silver, Q9A Midnight Gray Red Stripe, and Q9I Gloss Black wheels are in short supply as well, ranging from 261 sets for Q9Y to 104 for both the Q90 and Q9I. As for the Z51 Performance Package, make that 573 vehicles.

With the United Auto Workers nearing a strike deadline (today at 11:59 p.m. ET), it's possible for this batch of Corvettes to be postponed. On the other hand, GM did sweeten the deal with a wage increase of 20% and other benefits, matching the Ford Motor Company's proposal from last night.

For the 2024 model year, the Stingray carries a sticker price of $66,300 (not including the destination freight charge). It's quite a dramatic increase from the 2020 model, which sported a $58,900 base price.

As ever, we're dealing with a 6.2-liter small block featuring direct injection. Connected to an eight-speed transaxle of the dual-clutch variety, the naturally-aspirated lump makes a little bit more power and torque with the optional sports exhaust: 495 hp and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm if you prefer the metric system) instead of 490 and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm).

The next step up is the flat-plane crankshaft V8-engined Z06, which comes with similar output figures in standard guise and with the Z07 Performance Package. It makes 670 horsepower at 8,400 revolutions per minute, keeps that fabulous engine spinning to 8,600 revolutions per minute, and produces 460 lb-ft (624 Nm) at 6,300 spinnies.

Best described as the indirect successor of the Stingray-based Grand Sport from the previous generation, the E-Ray is a combination of Stingray and Z06. It features the aforementioned small block and the Z06's wider body, yet its highlight is the front-mounted electric motor that helps the E-Ray accelerate to 60 mph (97 kph) in 2.5 seconds. The quarter mile is dealt with in 10.5 seconds compared to a GM-estimated 10.6 seconds for the Z06.
