Introduced for the 2018 model year, the Chevrolet Equinox has officially entered 2024. The build & price is live, and somewhat of a surprise, Chevy didn't change the price of the entry-level LS FWD.
$27,995 is the starting price in question. The Premier FWD also stayed put ($33,195), whereas the RS FWD costs $250 more and the LT FWD is a staggering $1,795 more than before. The RS AWD and LT AWD are $300 and $1,795 more, whereas the LS AWD and Premier AWD retain their 2023 sticker prices.

Other changes worthy of mention? As per the order guide attached below, Riptide Blue Metallic and Lakeshore Blue Metallic have joined the exterior paint color palette. That's all, which is another way of saying the Equinox will be replaced after 2024. The next generation allegedly features internal combustion to differentiate itself from the long-awaited Equinox EV.

The all-electric sibling is due to arrive in dealer showrooms for the 2024 model year with a starting price of approximately $30,000 for the 1LT. Said trim level will be available in the spring of 2024. This fall, the only trim level heading to dealers is the 2RS. The Equinox EV lineup further consists of the 3RS, 3LT, and 2LT.

In regard to highlights, those are up to 300 miles (483 kilometers) of electric range on a full charge and approximately 70 miles (113 kilometers) of electric range for every 10 minutes of DC fast charging. Chevy warrants the battery for eight years or 100,000 miles (nearly 160,000 kilometers), whichever comes first.

Scheduled to end production at the Ramos Arizpe and San Luis Potosi assembly plants in Mexico in April 2024 and October 2024, the combustion-engined Chevrolet Equinox was the segment's third best-selling crossover in 2022. General Motors delivered 212,072 units compared to 165,323 in 2021. By comparison, Toyota and Honda delivered 399,941 and 238,155 units, respectively, in 2022. In fourth place, Nissan is listed with 186,480 examples of the Rogue compact SUV.

Both the front- and all-wheel-drive versions of the Equinox rely on a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, which is joined by a six-speed automatic. There's nothing inherently wrong with six speeds, but when the competition levels up to seven-, eight-, and nine-speed transmissions for transverse applications, you know that General Motors could've done better. But in typical fashion for General Motors, the biggest of the Big Three in Detroit cheapened out in order to save a few bucks.

The VVT- and DI-equipped powerplant belts out a respectable 175 ponies and 203 pound-feet (275 Nm) at full chatter. Internally referred to as LSD, this engine is much obliged to return 28 miles per gallon (8.4 liters per 100 kilometers) on the combined test cycle in combination with said transmission. Equipped with all-wheel drive, that would be 26 mpg (9.0 l/100 km).
