The M760Li was one of the big revelations of the past few years. That's the model with the 6.6-liter V12. It was in a lot of drag races, flaunting its massive displacement and powerful acceleration.
It was rated at 600 horsepower for 2016 and early 2017, gaining another 10 hp after that. But BMW made changes for the 2019 model year, the one with the bigger grille. This brought the total output to 585 HP, mainly due to new emissions regulations forcing the V12 to breathe out of a filter.
At the same time, the 750i/Li got a little better. Its old V8 has been replaced by the latest M Performance unit, even though the model isn't allowed to have the badge. Output now sits at 530 HP and 750 Nm, just 55 HP and 100 Nm shy of the big gun.
And if it's anything like the M850i that debuted this version of the 4.4-liter it should sound pretty good. The latest video from AutoTopNL confirms this fact. You can tell it doesn't have as many fancy cylinders, but the raspiness of the V8 just about makes up for this.
From a performance standpoint, you're not losing much, as the 750Li does the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 4.1 seconds versus 3.8 seconds in the M760Li. It's lighter by a shocking 220 kilos while retaining the wheelbase and xDrive. You can also have a normal-length 750i which would save you the money needed for this M Sport package. You want that, don't you?!
We're talking about €117,500 for the base 750i xDrive plus another €17,800 for the M Sport package with BMW Individual interior. It's basically a crime to buy this car without those things. This sounds really bad until you learn that an M760Li starts from €174,000.
Many tuners are able to extract 600 hp from this 4.4-liter, which would make it faster than any stock 7 Series given the weight factor.
