With Bentley having written an all-new chapter of the Flying Spur book last month, as example of the luxury saloon has recently been spotted on the street.
The lavish four-door was caught on camera while in Er Tarter, Andorra. This happens to be a destination with a respectable Bentley population. You see, Andorra is a small independent principality located between France and Spain, in the Pyrenees mountains. The state is famous for its sky resorts and its fiscal paradise aura - lens tip to Autogespot for these images.
"But weren't customer deliveries for the 2020 Flying Spur scheduled to kick off early next year - how come it's out this early? I head you asking.
Well, that is correct, but we're not talking about a customer car here. Instead, this is a manufacturer vehicle - note that the sedan was spotted in the presence of the new Continental GT.
Keep in mind that it's not unusual for automotive producers to polish the final details of a vehicle even after the official debut has taken place, so this sighting shouldn't come as a surprise.
We have plenty of reasons to look forward to meeting the new Flying Spur in person. For one thing, the Phaeton-shared platform is gone, having been replaced by the Volkswagen Group's MSB platform, which shares the structure in front of the firewall with the Conti GT and the Porsche Panamera, while its middle part is common to that of the Panamera Executive (think: long wheelbase). Nevertheless, the posterior is a bespoke Bentley creation, with this favoring a more generous luggage compartment and a suspension setup oriented towards coziness.
Thanks to weight-saving measures such as all exterior panels being built from aluminum, the generation change brings an 84 lbs diet.
Motivation for the 2020 Bentley Flying Spur comes with the most recent incarnation of the 6.0-liter W12, which means the one behind the wheel gets to control 630 horsepower and a peak torque of 664 lb-ft.
And while comfort is the top priority here, this lavish saloon can hit 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and blitz the Autobahn at 207 mph.
