The finalists of the six award categories of the 2017 World Car Awards have been announced by the organizers of the program.
According to its makers, this year is the fourth consecutive year when the World Car Awards are the number one automotive awards program in the world when media reach is concerned. The main thing you should know about these distinctions is that the winners will be revealed on April 13, 2017, at the New York Auto Show.

Five of the six award categories are chosen by a jury of 75 international automotive journalists, while the last of them is decided by world-renowned design experts, who will designate the 2017 World Car Design of the Year. All of the secret ballots sent by the jurors will be counted by KPMG, an international accounting firm that is hired for this task.

The list you will read below features all of the finalists, but the 2017 Geneva Motor Show will bring a top-three list in all categories, and the jurors will have to decide between those to select the winners. As usual, we will inform you when the results will be clocked.

The ten finalists for the 2017 World Car of the Year are the Audi A5/S5 Coupe, Audi Q2, Audi Q5, Fiat/Abarth 124 Spider, Honda Civic, Jaguar F-Pace, Mazda CX-9, Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota C-HR, and the Volkswagen Tiguan.

The 2017 World Luxury Car will be elected from the following: Bentley Bentayga, BMW 5 Series, Genesis G90, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and the Volvo S90/V90. The 2017 World Performance Car’s finalists include: Aston Martin DB11, Audi R8 Spyder, Honda/Acura NSX, McLaren 570S, and Porsche Boxster/Cayman.

The winner of the 2017 World Green Car distinction will be determined from the following: Chevrolet Bolt, Honda Clarity Fuel-Cell, Hyundai Ioniq, Tesla Model X, and Toyota Prius Prime.

In the World Urban Car category, the top five models are the BMW i3 (94 Ah), Citroen C3, Ford Ka+, Smart Cabriolet, and Suzuki Ignis. The last category, which is for the World Car Design of the Year, is a battle between the Audi A5/S5 Coupe, Jaguar F-Pace, Mazda CX-9, Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet, and the Toyota CH-R.

May the best car win!
