2017 Ram Power Wagon Pricing Announced, Great Off-Roading Doesn't Come Cheap

The Ram Power Wagon prides itself on being the "most capable off-road truck in America," and even if you don't know anything about this pickup, it suffices to look at the picture to know that's not an unfounded claim.
However, under that very manly look lurks some equally manly technology. For instance, the Ram Power Wagon comes with a 12,000-pound Warn winch that can take the behemoth out of the hairiest situations (provided you can find something strong enough to anchor it to).

To deal with the rough terrain this truck is going to see and save its occupants from periodic visits to chiropractors, the Power Wagon is equipped with Bilstein mono-tube shocks and five-link rear coil spring suspension, plus a Smart Bar electronic disconnecting sway bar, for improved handling.

When the going gets really tough, it can use its electric-locking front and rear differentials which make sure all four wheels shrouded in 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires get the adequate amount of power. And with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine developing 410 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque (582 Nm), there will be no shortage of that.

The technical off-road features of the 2017 Ram Power Wagon are complimented by a 14.3-inch (36.3 cm) ground clearance, the 26 inches (66 cm) of wheel travel, and 30 inches (76.2 cm) of water fording. In other words, whatever this truck will come across, it will likely be able to go over it.

All these capabilities - plus the angry rhino-snout design - come at a price, though. The 2017 Ram Power Wagon has a recommended retail price (MSRP) of $51,695, plus $1,320 destination. And for those who aren't just happy with the ability to go anywhere, but also want to do it in style, the Power Wagon offers an optional Leather & Luxury package for an extra $4,495.

This adds a series of convenience features that are very hard to ignore:
- Uconnect Access 8.4 Sirius XM satellite radio with touchscreen display
- Nine Alpine speakers with subwoofer
- Dual-zone automatic temperature control
- Heated and ventilated high-back leather-trimmed 40/20/40 front bench seats with armrest and seat cushion storage
- Power 10-way adjustable driver seat with memory, 6-way front passenger seat
- Power lumbar adjustment
- Heated steering wheel
- Rear 60/40 split folding seat with flat load floor and under-seat storage
- ParkSense front and rear park assist system
- ParkView rear backup camera
- Power-folding mirrors
- Security alarm
- Integrated voice command with Bluetooth
