Fiat has announced pricing for the 2017 124 Spider in the USA, and it is the cheapest turbocharged roadster available on the American market.
The 2017 124 Spider starts at $24,995 (MSRP) in the Classica trim level. When compared to the Mazda MX-5, the Italian cousin is just $80 more expensive, as the Miata starts at $24,915 for the Sport trim, the cheapest version of the Japanese convertible. Fiat’s roadster will go on sale this summer in the USA.

The next equipment level in the Fiat 124 Spider range is called Lusso and starts at $27,495. Abarth, the top version, starts at $28,195. All prices mentioned above are MSRPs and do not include the $995 destination fee.

Fiat also offers a launch-edition version of their roadster, which will be sold in limited numbers to celebrate the model’s revival almost half a century after the launch of the original 124 Spider.

The Italian carmaker calls the limited-edition model 124 Spider Prima Edizione Lusso, and its MSRP starts at $35,000, not including the destination fee mentioned above. The company will first sell the limited-production Prima Edizione Lusso models and then deliver the rest of the 124 Spiders ordered in the United States of America.

The roadster comes with a standard 1.4-liter turbocharged MultiAir engine, which provides 160 HP and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of peak torque. Its Abarth version comes with an extra five horsepower, while torque is maintained at the level mentioned above.

No matter what version you choose, Fiat offers a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is rated by the EPA at 26 mpg city and 35 mpg highway for the manual transmission versions, while the automatics are rated at 25 mpg in city driving and 36 mpg highway.

The standard trim level, called Classica, is available in six colors. It features 16-inch alloy wheels as standard, while the other trim levels have 17-inch rims. The next equipment level can be ordered in one of seven colors, while the Abarth is only available in five color options.
