Mercedes-Benz is racing towards the completion of the C-Class family, with the next step down this road being the introduction of the coupe. The two-door is expected to make its debut this fall, at the Frankfurt Motor Show and we’ve recently spied a prototype.
The new MRA platform will offer plenty of assets for the new Coupe and we’ve been encouraged to believe this car will drive even better than it will look. Speaking of which, those who can’t wait and want to obtain a mental image of the C-Class Coup, can simply imagine a smaller-scale S-Class Coupe. In fact, the two-door C-Class has shown us its window line in a series of spy photos we snapped back in April.
As far as the tech side is concerned, the German automaker has ensured the C-Class offers a complete engine range. The Coupe will borrow most of the sedan’s power options.
For the sedan and the station wagon, Mercedes-Benz also offers a pair of hybrid models, a standard and a plug-in one. Still, it’s too early to tell if the coupe will receive electron power.
From this point on, things move into the go-fast area. A C450 AMG Sport halfway model will deliver 362 HP and a peak torque of 384 lb-ft (520 Nm).
As we showed you in yet another series of spy photos, the proper AMG models will be quite a pair of lookers. The standard Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe will deliver 469 HP, while the S model will up the ante to 503 HP.
As most of you know, Mercedes-Benz is also working on a C-Class Cabriolet and we’re betting on the quietest open-air experience in the segment.

Under the hood
For the US market, things will start with the 243 HP C300 model, which uses a four-cylinder turbo unit. A 329 HP C400 model will bring twin-turbo V6 power. For the sedan and the station wagon, Mercedes-Benz also offers a pair of hybrid models, a standard and a plug-in one.
