We caught the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe out testing plenty of times. By now, we already know how it will look like but we didn't get to watch the AMG version at play too many times, unfortunately.
This week we got lucky though, as the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe showed its face on the Nurburgring and our spy photographers were there to catch it in action. The one thing that shocks the most here is the sound.

During this phase of testing, the car is clearly hiding its real voice but even so, what our ears heard is enticing nonetheless. That's a V8 under there and a 4-liter turbocharged one too.

It's no secret and no surprise that Mercedes will be using the same mill as on its sedan for the two-door alternative. The power output will probably be the same too, with the base C63 putting down 476 HP and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque and the S version making 510 HP and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.

That's plenty of grunt to take on its chief rival, the BMW M4 that uses a 3-liter inline 6-cylinder engine with two turbochargers making 431 HP and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. For now, the Bavarian hasn't got a more powerful version to offer but rumors have it that an M4 GTS is in the works.

In the meantime, the changes in appearance will be small on the Coupe compared to the sedan alas the doors, of course. Up front, the same elements are to be found while round he back an approach similar to the one used on the S63 AMG Coupe will most likely be integrated.

Either way, this is bound to be one of the best looking cars in the line-up once it is revealed. Hopefully, it will also lose some weight to keep up with the competition on the corners as well, not just on the straights.
