It looks like Kawasaki really hit the right button with the Z800 streetfighter introduced as a 2013 model year. The family grows with one more model year which will be available in the US, too, even though reports say California will not be on the list.
The new Z800 ABS follows the initial recipe and packs 806cc displacement for the in-line four injected engine, sending power to a six-speed transmission and using a sealed chain for the final drive.

Kawasaki's .com does not offer precise power figures, but the media says that the 2016 iteration of the Z800 ABS will produce 94 horsepower and a peak torque of 56 lb-ft (76 Nm), which is in line with what the 2015 European version produces.

A comfy ride with plenty of sporty vibe to it

The 2016 Z800 retains the sporty looks combined with a comfortable, commanding riding position that makes this bike suitable for both fast commuting and longer hauls. The forks only have rebound damping and spring preload adjustability. The horizontal Bottom-link rear shock comes with a piggyback reservoir, stepless rebound damping and adjustable spring preload. Even so, we figure out that rather few riders will miss adjustable compression that much...

When looking for a downside, the weight of the 2016 Kawasaki Z800 ABS may be brought into the discussion. At 509 lb (231 kg) this machine is not the lightest of the naked streetfighters out there.

Still, for the estimated price of $8,399 (US estimated price, equivalent to €7,530), the Z800 ABS looks like a very attractive offer for those in search of a sporty all-rounder that can even do some road touring when equipped with certain accessories.
