Before the LT4-engined 2016 Cadillac CTS-V came to be, the nameplate was applied to a hard-edged luxo-muscle car with a bad attitude. But when D3 Cadillac applies a widebody kit to this blast from the past, the CTS-V gets a mega infusion of anabolic steroids.
D3 Cadillac of Signal Hill, California, is a GM-licensed tuning company, defining themselves as performance engineers. In-house shaping, molding, prototype, design, and fabrication, you name it, these guys can do them all. The Cadillac CTS-V Competition Widebody Package by D3 Cadillac stands as proof to that.
Although output figures haven’t been released yet, word on the street is the 6.2-liter V8 motor develops 705 HP and 676 lb-ft (916 Nm) at 3,600 rpm. In terms of RWHP, do expect around 635 rampaging ponies. The horsepower bump comes courtesy of a 3.6-liter D3 Ultracharger and an extensive array of mods to make the V8 run on E85. Here’s a list of highlight go-faster upgrades from the outfit known as D3 Cadillac:
- 3.6-liter D3 Ultracharger
- D3 front mount Ultracooler
- D3 harmonic balancer & pulley
- D3-spec camshaft
- Upgraded valvetrain
- Methanol injection
- E85 conversion
- Upgraded intercooler pump
- Custom ECU tuning
- Long tube headers
- Coilover system
- D3 sway bar system
- D3 air inlet hood
- D3 LED inlets
- D3 roof spoiler
- D3 rear diffuser
- D3 front lip
- D3 headlamp refinish w/red LEDs like The Terminator's eyes
- Black Cherry D3 Mohawk

Other than the previously mentioned goodies and the D3 Cadillac Competition Widebody package, the CTS-V on hand is wearing Pirelli P Zero rubber for maximum attack off the line. At highway speeds, the sheer grunt of the V8 and chassis improvements enhance mind-bending pulls. It's a monster of a luxobarge, a Rocky Balboa wearing a suit and tie, with enough muscle power to crush the most capable competition.
Before you press play, don’t forget to turn the volume knob of to 11.
