The facelifted versions of the Citroen C4 Picasso and Citroen Grand C4 Picasso have been presented in France, bringing more design artifices and comfort to the table. The refreshed multi-purpose vehicles are slated to go on sale this summer.
It’s easy to spot the differences brought to the exterior of both siblings. First, there is the redesigned front end and 3D-effect rear lights. Then there are the 17-inch wheels, available two-tone roof of the C4 Picasso, and available Silver colored roof bars for the Grand C4 Picasso. The latter also gains three new body colors.

Inside, both models are available in four design styles and five upholstery choices. The biggest news, however, is the new 3D Citroen Connect Nav system, which is combined with a 7-inch touchscreen. Citroen is so proud of the onboard comfort offered by the C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso, we’re promised things such as “unrivaled suspension comfort” and “cocoon-like acoustic and vibration comfort.”

Under the hood, the 2016 Citroen C4 Picasso gains two new powertrains. The most interesting of the lot is the 1.2 PureTech 130 S&S EAT6, a powertrain which combines a three-cylinder engine with an automatic transmission. In the case of both the C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso, the PureTech 130 S&S EAT6 will return up to 5.1 l/100 km (55.4 imperial mpg or 46.1 US mpg). Other powertrains for the five- and seven-seater MPVs include the 1.6 BlueHDI 120 S&S, 1.6 BlueHDI 120 S&S EAT6, and 1.6 BlueHDI 150 S&S.

“For us, [the] new Citroen C4 Picasso is a showcase of our finest know-how. In addition to its unique, modern and dynamic styling, it offers an incomparable level of comfort. With its architecture and the EMP2 platform, it brings motorists spaciousness, modularity and on-road qualities that enhance the well-being of all passengers. Today we are equipping it with a set of new useful technologies that simplify everyday life and improve safety. New C4 Picasso has everything it takes to be a leader in the European market,” declared Linda Jackson, CEO of Citroen.

Since the current generation was launched in 2013, Citroen has sold over 300,000 units of the family-hauling MPVs. Pricing and more detailed info on the two MPVs will be made available closer to the on-sale date.
