Let's take the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition, which will only be built in 500 units. Now, according to GM Authority, Castle Chevrolet North, a Chevy dealership in Villa Park, Illinois, has already listed (and sold, for that matter) its Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition on eBay for $115,000.
Too much or too little? We can't say, because there's no official pricing yet from Chevrolet, although the price tag is, allegedly, the performance model's MSRP.
Considering a Callaway Corvette Z06 Package is available for $16,995, which adds to a Corvette Z06's sticker of $79,000 stretches your wallet to $95,995, some might snub the idea of owning a Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition for the hefty $115,000 price tag.
Also, the eBay entry mentions "the VIN used is not of the actual car, because the vehicle has yet to be produced".
In other words, the listing is not for an already-built Z06 C7.R Edition, but rather for the dealership’s allocation of the model. The VIN provided is 1G1YM2D72G5101847, but we know for sure the C7.R Edition's VIN should start with 700001.
Under the hood lies a 650-horsepower supercharged LT4 engine kept under control by Brembo brakes with ceramic matrix brake rotors, but sales will only kick off next year.
