As expected from our talented team of carparazzi, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro was spotted once again, this time doing super hot laps on the grueling Nurburgring circuit in Germany. Its 154 daunting turns and 20.8 kilometers of asphalt were used as a live testbed for the upcoming sixth-generation Camaro, and from the looks of it, this pony comes with pretty good handling.
Even in the tightest of corners, the spied 2016 Chevy Camaro prototype seems to attack them with a lot of ease. Considering the test vehicle is equipped with road-legal rubber, that translates to higher levels of grip at the front compared to the outgoing Camaro, which we tested in RS and SS convertible guise.

An aspect that wasn't visible in yesterday's batch of 2016 Chevrolet Camaro spy photos comes in the form of the holes in the bonnet's camouflage. It's quite possible that those openings signal a vented hood, but it's not clear whether this piece of kit will come as standard on higher-spec models or it's gonna be offered as an optional extra. Nevertheless, bonnet vents are cool on this sort of vehicle.

Anything else worth highlighting?

Just as we pointed out in our previous piece of writing on the upcoming pony car from General Motors, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is basically the toned down brother of Bumblebee from Transformers 4: Age of Extinction. Aside from a narrower lower radiator grille, a slightly different boot spoiler and a more prominent waistline, there are little differences between the real Camaro and the Autobot Camaro.

This occasion marks the first time GM tested the new Camaro on the Ring, which is a tell-tale sign the visuals are almost production ready. But we have a sneaking suspicion engineers will do an immense number of laps on the Ring to fine tune the steering, suspension, engine and exhaust sound levels and anything else covered by this type of operation. A way too hard damping setup would spoil the everyday practicality of the Camaro, so engineers will opt for that sweet spot in-between comfort and sportiness.

With the updated 2015 Dodge Challenger and all-new 2015 Ford Mustang already on sale, the 2016 Camaro will make its entrance last in the modern pony car wars. Nevertheless, there's a lot of weight on the shoulders of the sixth-generation Camaro, so keep those fingers crossed Chevrolet will deliver the best handling and most exciting Camaro in history next year, when the model is slated to break cover.
