If you were a fan of the Sport Line package on the BMW 4 Series, you’ll be sad to learn that it will no longer be available starting later this year, with 2016 model year versions. No, it’s not that the Germans are offering something else, but they are including all the stuff in this package in the standard kit.
That’s right, you’ll basically get all the stuff for free now and, if you go for the 435i model, you’ll be greeted by even more freebies. To be more precise, we’ll point out exactly what you’ll be getting.

The 18” Style 397 wheels will become standard on all models (both Coupe and Convertible) and so will the Matte Chrome exterior trims, Anti-theft alarm system, high-gloss black finishers surrounding the air-intakes, black kidney grilles, black B-pillars, black elements on the rear bumper and tailpipes.

Inside the cabin, you’ll find the sport seats, Anthracite headliner, instrument cluster with chrono scaling, the sport leather steering wheel with red stitching and key fob with red clasp.

In case you’re not a fan of the Sport Line guise, you can opt for the Luxury Package that will replace the seats with the Luxury version. You’ll need to add the Dakota Leather though as an individual option and the Premium Package for the 428i model. The 435i comes with the Premium Package included so you won’t have to add it for the top spec versions.

Speaking of the 435i, it will get Comfort Access Keyless Entry for free from now on as well as lumbar support, satellite radio with one-year subscription and the Harman/Kardon sound system.

Last but definitely not least, you can still get the Track Handling Package that is comprised of the 18” V-Spoke Orbit Grey wheels along with the M Sport brakes, Adaptive M suspension and variable sport steering.

Of course, all this added kit will cost some money, highlighted by the increase in the starting prices for all 4 Series models. The 428i Coupe will start at $42,845, the xDrive version starts at $44,845, the 435i Coupe is $49,145 while the all-wheel drive alternative will start at $51,145. The prices include the $995 destination and handling tax.

If you’re looking into convertibles, you should know that the 428i starts the party at $50,995, the xDrive version will be at least $52,995 while the 435i will have a starting price of $57,945. The top of the range version, the 435i xDrive Convertible will cost $59,945. We know that the 4 Series was ranked highest in a recent JD Power survey in terms of initial satisfaction from the owners, but those prices are slowly getting out of hand.
