We are now just days away from the grand unveil of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Wagon S205 (T-Modell or Estate, depending on market), with the official public launch of the model expected to take place at the upcoming 2014 Leipzig International Motor Show.
According to recent rumors, the model may be actually unveiled on May 23rd - or about a week before the Leipzig Motor Show starts - in a ceremony where only certain members of the press will be invited, while the public launch will happen as scheduled in Leipzig.
Frankly, it doesn't actually matter where we get to see the new C-Class Wagon S205, especially since we pretty much know how it is going to look courtesy of a couple of spy shots showing it in the flesh back in 2013.
As it is based on the same MRA (Modular Rear Architecture) platform as the C-Class W205 sedan, the new entry-level station wagon in the Mercedes-Benz lineup will also offer the same engine range, starting with a 1.6-liter turbodiesel four-pot sourced from Renault and ending with the mighty four-liter twin-turbocharged V8 in the upcoming C 63 AMG variant.
In other words, it will sport a minimum of 130 hp and 320 Nm on the diesel front and no less than 476 hp and approximately 650 Nm (479 lb ft) of torque as far as the most powerful gasoline engines are concerned.
Although not officially confirmed, a plug-in hybrid version of the new C-Class Wagon is also in the works, as camouflaged pre-production prototypes have already been spotted, with that variant to sport the lowest fuel consumption in its segment.
Also not confirmed is the fact that the new model may feature a self-leveling rear suspension in standard on all engines, while the luggage compartment will be slightly larger than on the current model. Expect more details about the model as its official launch is just around the corner.
