Corbin reveals a new solo seat for the 2015 Indian Scout, a creation which replaces the stock saddle with a newly-shaped one which introduces a new level of comfort. The seat has been engineered to visually integrate with the bike, while adding increased rider support and an extra note of custom design. A matching passenger seat is being developed, too, so those who prefer to ride their Scouts two-up will soon be offered a complete solution. Like any other Corbin seat, the Classic Solo saddle functionality can be upgraded with the company’s back rest. However, you’ll have to get the Corbin backrest if you plan to get the aftermarket seat, as the OEM one will not fit.
The new Scout seat comes with a special mounting system created by Corbin, but installing it is still a very easy operation. A special bracket is supplied with the seat and it can be effortlessly attached to the bike in a matter of minutes with no special technical skills required. The bracket is a part of the Key Lock system which makes saddle removal exceedingly easy. Insert the key, turn it, and remove the seat. To mount it back, all you have to do is click the seat into position, turn the key lock and you’re set.
On the outside, Corbin offers three color options. The saddle is covered in genuine leather which can be had in the OEM-ish Indian Tan or in Corbin’s Oaknut Brown or natural Black. The first two options come with R80 red welts and white stitching, while the last one also includes chrome studs. The leather and the Comfort Cell foam will break in together and provide the rider with support accurately tailored after his own body shape.
The funny-looking Glovebox storage compartment can also be installed if you choose the backrest for your Scout. Prices for the 2015 Indian Scout Classic Solo saddle start at $343 (€303), with $493 (€437) for the heated version. No word on when the passenger seat will become available.
