Most people still consider Hyundai to be this budget car company that makes flimsy boxes on wheels. But the Koreans have worked hard to reinvent themselves. You can now buy a Santa Fe for about the same money as a Mercedes GLK in America and you'll be surprise to see it's really well equipped. However, the true face of Hyundai luxury is the Genesis. We're talking about rear-wheel drive, about V8 engines and a gearbox they developed themselves.
The outgoing Genesis was a pretty interesting car, but it's nothing compared to this new one. The 2015 Genesis, presented by the company at the Detroit Auto Show, shows huge improvements in perceived build quality. It's harp and elegant, a mix between an Audi and a Cadillac.

While everything about it looks different, under the hood nothing has changed. The 5.0-liter V8 still produces 429 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque, while the 3.8-liter V6 delivers 333 hp and 291 lb-ft of torque. However, all-wheel drive is for the first time available on the car. Known as the HTRAC system, this will help the Genesis break into the Snowbelt and potentially Canada.

All 2015 Genesis models will be imported later this year from Ulsan in Korea. Prices have yet to be revealed, but are expected to start at about $38,000.
