Interesting as it might be to look at, the Hyundai Genesis is becoming less and less relevant every year. The car was launched in production form back in 2008, and the mid-size sedan definitely needs a new chassis. The German rivals have moved the game on completely in terms of weight, refinement and efficiency, and it’s time the Koreans did the same.
Our spy photographers have managed to capture quite revealing photos of the brand new Genesis premium sedan, which we know will launch around the end of next year.
The reason why this car looks so German is because it technically is. The prototype is undergoing testing in Germany, not Korea, and was designed and developed there as well.
The styling has changed significantly from the current model and we could be looking at a completely new grille design, much wider than the current one. The headlights also have a hint of Opel Insignia in them, though we won’t know for sure until the reveal.
Expect the new Genesis to arrive with more efficient turbocharged engines, including the much talked about turbo V6.
