It’s not clear why Chrysler and in turn Dodge, are overlooking the Journey. Better said, whey they did so far, leaving it to become one of the few cars in the world to still use a 4-speed gearbox but one thing’s for sure, the looks are not its worst attribute. Therefore, we thought that there might be some readers out there that actually prefer the shape of the crossover so we’re offering you some HD wallpapers.

Speaking of the Dodge Journey we should point out that even though it is praised as a crossover, the thing can actually be had with front-wheel drive. That makes it rather special and in tune with the times we’re living in, where most people don’t actually need traction on all four wheels to get around.

Inside the cabin little has changed but the things that are different matter. For example, the gearshift lever now operates a 6-speed automatic that is miles ahead of the old 4-speed. At the same time, the seats have great functionality, especially since this is a car that is supposed to take care of a family of up to 7 people.

The instrument cluster has a theme that matches the color of our car’s exterior, shining red around the edges. It’s easy to read and will display everything you need at the touch of a button. Speaking of which, the steering wheel buttons were rather nifty, allowing you to operate them from behind, like you would on an older Renault, if you had the pleasure of having one.

As far as space goes, you can’t go wrong with this thing. Considering its size, sitting at 192.4 inches in length, 72.2 in width and 66.6 inches high, the storage department was definitely not overlooked. With all the seat down you get 67.6 cubic feet (1,914 liters) of room without folding the front passenger seat. With the second row up you get 37 cubic feet (1,047 liters) plenty for... anything really.

As an overall package, the Journey feels updated. Part of the deal is the new Uconnect infotainment system that is class-leading according to Chrysler and easy-to-use. The last part we agree with while the former might take a little more convincing. What doesn’t need convincing is the value this car has and considering its starting price of just over $20,000 you really can’t beat it.
