Chevrolet’s pickup truck division showed up at the Chicago Auto Show with a rather nifty and capable workhorse. Baptized 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Custom, this full-size model combines good value with just the right amount of standard equipment.
Sandor Piszar, the marketing director for Chevy Trucks, stated that the Custom is a response to the economy recovery and the millions of light-duty pickup buyers out there that want “a great looking, well-equipped truck at an affordable price.” For starters, the Custom is based on the LS in double cab configuration.

If that doesn’t seem enough, fret not ‘cause we’re not done yet. Four full doors, a 40/20/40 bench up front dressed in cloth, cruise control, power windows and General Motors’ MyLink infotainment system are also standard.

The manufacturer’s infotainment system comes with the OnStar 4G LTE feature that boasts with the popular Wi-Fi hotspot trait as well. Despite this hi-tech showcase, Piszar is highlight the following: “The Silverado Custom is from the most dependable, longest-lasting family of full-size pickups on the road, and we think it is a great choice for hard-working truck customers.”

In terms of power train options, the 2015 Chevy Silverado Custom light-duty pickup truck can be specced with either the 285 HP 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 or the 355 HP 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 motor, which is able to return up to 23 mpg (10.2 l/100 km) highway. Pricing? The golden bowtie automaker charges $33,820 for the entry-level Silverado Custom 2WD with the 5.3-liter V8 mill and $37,800 for the 4x4 model.
