It's been a while since we last caught a camouflaged pre-production prototype of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205, and this time it appears to be a Blue Efficiency Edition model.
We're basing our judgement on the fact that, as you can see in the adjacent photos, the model is sporting a set of aerodynamic light-alloy wheels and low-rolling resistance tires.
From previous reports, it seem that the next C-Class Blue Efficiency Edition will have a Renault-sourced 1.6-liter diesel with 130 hp and 300 Nm (236 lb ft) of torque. Paired with an array of modifications that will most likely make it steal the crown from the CLA Blue Efficiency as the most aerodynamic production car in the world.
Along with up to 100 kg (220 pounds) less weight compared to the current generation and a host of drive train modifications, the C 180 CDI Blue Efficiency W205 will have a combined fuel consumption of under 4 liters per 100 km (58.8 mpg). Expect more info in the following weeks, as the new C-Class is getting ready to be unveiled at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in January.
