Two days ago we gave you the first spy photos ever with the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Wagon (T-Modell or Estate, depending on country) S205, but today we have found out more information related to the upcoming uber-wagon from AMG.
Unlike the current generation of the model, the S205 will feature quite a lot of different versions, one more powerful than the other.
If recent reports are correct, the “standard” C 63 AMG Wagon S205 will feature 476 hp and around 650 Nm (479 lb ft) of torque from its all-new four-liter V8 mill.
Power junkies should not fret though, as a more power S-Model version is also in planning, with at least 510 hp and 700 Nm (516 lb ft) of torque expected to be squeezed from the new M177 engine.
Speaking of the the M177 and its M178 brother that will be featured by the upcoming AMG GT (C190) sports car, the powerplant is expected to offer an unheard of fuel consumption per horsepower ratio in the C 63 AMG – around 25-30 percent less than the outgoing M156, which will be sorely missed.
Based on two M133 four-cylinders from the 45 AMG series - bonded together with the intake on the outside and the exhaust and twin-scroll turbochargers fitted inside the cylinder banks - the new M177/M178 will also offer a very good acceleration response and almost insignificant turbo lag.
Though unconfirmed yet, the S-Model variants of the C 63 AMG in both sedan and station wagon form might also get the AMG-tuned 4Matic all-wheel drive system, which would make them run circles around the current and maybe even future Audi RS4.
