Launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011, the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz B-Class is the first three-pointed star model based on the highly-successful MFA (Modular Front Architecture) platform.
With about six months until the W246 generation's third birthday, Mercedes-Benz engineers are hard at work testing various pre-production prototypes sporting a mid-cycle refresh for the model.

Set to be unveiled sometime this summer and publicly launched at the Paris Motor Show 2014, the Mercedes-Benz B-Class (W246) facelift will sport some mild exterior and interior modifications to keep it fresh.

The exterior will receive a new front end, with a new shape for the headlights – which may get an all-LED option - a new front bumper and a slightly more upright engine grill, while the rear will get a reshaped bumper and redesigned taillights.

The interior in one of the models spotted by our spy photographers in Sweden is pretty covered up, making one think that all the parts covered are brand new or redesigned. We are expecting a new steering wheel, whose design will be based on the one from the new C-Class W205 and the S-Class Coupe C217, while the tablet-like screen will be slightly better integrated into the dashboard.

There have been talks about the introduction of the newly-launched color head-up display system on smaller models as well, so the B-Class facelift may also get it.

As some of you know, the Mercedes-Benz B-Class is the best sold MPV in Germany, premium or not, a fact which says a lot about the fan base for the model. Expect more details about the facelift in the upcoming months.
