After we’ve seen the perfect safety score for the 2014 Lexus IS earlier, let’s see how the other much awaited Toyota model handled the Euro NCAP crash tests.
The 2014 Toyota Corolla scored 94 percent for the adult occupants, 82 % for children and 67 % for pedestrians. The sedan is fitted with 7 SRS airbags, a driver’s knee airbag, twin-chamber front side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. Additionally, all seats feature three-point, ELR (Emergency Locking Retractor) seatbelts, Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL) seats, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control and seatbelt warnings.
During the crash tests, the passenger compartment remained stable and dummy readings indicated good protection for all the body zones, results matched for the kids protection too. Pedestrian protection was a bit lower due to some hard surfaces at the front edge of the hood, but it got an “Adequate” result for the overall safety.
