No, this test doesn’t involve crashes, people fighting, or the amount of disassembled Kalashnikov rifles that can be stuffed in the boot of the new Lexus IS.
It is a straight-forward test drive performed by a sensible reviewer form AutoVesti, named Paul Blyudenova and not a single crash or road rage has been recorded on film. The 2014 Lexus IS is offered in 2 versions in Russia - the IS 250 and the IS 300h, priced at RUB1,377,000 for the first and RUB1,617,000 for the hybrid.
Paul tested the IS 300h version, powered by a 2.5-liter V6 engine that is aided by an electric motor all connected to an E-CVT gearbox that sends the power to the rear wheels. Zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) is done in 8.4 seconds and the car can reach a max speed of 201 km/h (125 mph).
This model is also equipped with the F Sport package, which adds a sport suspension, 18-inch spoked rims, fabric/Tahara upholstery, the F Sport front bumper and grille mesh, as well as the Lexus LFA inspired gauge cluster.
Although the review is in Russian, and you will probably understand nothing of it, do watch at least for the nicely-recorded shots and to see the car in action once again.
