The 2014 Kia Sportage will start from $22,450 including handling and destination, the South Korean automaker revealed earlier this week, meaning the new crossover sees a price increase of $2,600 over last year’s iteration.
Revealed earlier this year, the 2014 Kia Sportage is available in three trim levels as the manufacturer decided to drop the Sportage Base model in the United States (which probably explains the increase base price). The range tops out at $29,250 with the Sportage SX, which comes with all-wheel drive and more standard equipment.
As reminder, the Kia Sportage gained a new front grille, HID headlamps and LED taillights, among other exterior changes, while the cabin received tilt & telescopic steering column, revised infotainment and reclining rear outboard seats.
Under the hood, the new Sportage features a new 2.4-liter GDI four-cylinder engine that delivers 182 HP and 177 lb-ft of torque, 6 HP and 9 lb-ft extra over last year’s model.
