Kawasaki shows their 2014 version of the KLX140, the first solid step for kids as they prepare to enter the worlds of real-deal off-road riding.
Some might be fooled by the small-displacement air-cooled single engine, but when used in conjunction with the close-ratio 5-speed manual gearbox, they will surely think twice. After all, Kawasaki would not have loaded race-specced disc brakes on this machine just to make it look better, would they?

The front petal rotor is the same 220 unit used in the KX450F and 250F machines, and it offers a very dependable stopping power, neatly complemented by the rear rotor. Tough cast hubs are in place for the RK Excel rims.

The 2014 Kawasaki KLX140 comes with a longer profile and centered positioning for better balance, and the elimination of the kickstart provides more leg room. The weight for the 2014 model is 205 lbs (93 kg) and the box-section perimeter frame makes sure even heavier riders will be safe abaord this bike. The MSRP for the 2014 Kawasaki KLX140 is $3,099 (€2,358).
