Good news comes from Two Brothers Racing (TBR), in the shape of not one, but two new slip-on silencers for the popular 2014 Honda VFR800 Interceptor. While the technology beneath luxurious carbon fiber sleeves of these two exhausts is identical, these cans serve two different purposes.
Since the VFR800 is a sport-touring machine “par excellence”, this means that many customers are quite fond of packing their saddlebags and hitting the roads for weekend outings or even longer vacations. And the saddlebags are sometimes in the way of aftermarket silencer performance, but it’s not the case with Two Brothers Racing’s cans.

The VFR800 Interceptor can be upgraded with a silencer specially designed to be used with saddlebags, offering the same performance boost and tone as the standard version. Both canisters are manufactured from aerospace-grade high-temperature 33 million modulus tow carbon fiber and epoxy resin, and are 6 lb (2.7 kg) lighter than the stock Honda exhaust.

The S1R has a spiral-wound perforated core and a stamped spring-fit inlet, are quick and easy to install, and are delivered with rubber-styled mounting hardware. Both units are compliant with catalyst cells and O2 sensors. The end caps are made from Teflon-coated magnesium, while the outlets are CNC machined aluminium, and accept TBR’s removable P-series noise reduction tips.

Fitting an S1R canister on your 2014 Honda VFR800 Interceptor will increase the peak power by 4.93 horsepower and the new max hp figure will be 99.99hp @ 11,000 revs, while the peak torque will go up 2.24 lb-ft (3Nm), with a 3 lb-ft (4.1Nm) boost at 5,500 rpm. Noise will also increase from the OEM 86dB @6,500 revs to 94dB at 5,000.

Both cans are provided with all the necessary mounting hardware and retail for $599.98 (€463).
