Here's the 2014 Sabre, Honda's new model year custom-looks chopper. A sharp-looking modern custom chopper with barely street-legal attitude, yet as rewarding as it gets once you hop aboard.
Cued in the stripped-down manner of the new Honda Fury, the 2014 Sabre VT13CSE retains the aggressive stance and mean approach to bike-building. If the older Shadow seemed a bit too much on the fat side, this new machine is exactly to opposite way: seemingly skinny but very potent, the 2014 Sabre's arched backbone puts the beautiful engine on display.
The 3-valve dual plug 1,312cc power unit come with a classic single-pin crankshaft and dual balancers for smooth retro feel, but with Honda's programmed fuel injection system to offer hassle-free start-ups and consistent performance.
Convenient shaft final drive means almost no maintenance, while the 5-spoked cast wheels enhance the modern custom attire of this prowler, while the all-black graphics make a sweet, elegant contrast with the chrome accents of the rocker covers, exhaust and headlight bullet casing.
Honda offers the standard 2014 Sabre for a nifty $12,250 (€9,330), while the Combined ABS version is available for $13,250 (€10,090). Is it just us, or ABS prices at Honda doubled from last year?
