2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Won't Be so Different After All

The Internet is a wonderful place filled with rumors and speculations that will overload your synapses. However, some are not firmly rooted in reality and as time passes, we get closer to the palpable world.
the 2014 Corvette C7 was supposed to be a revolutionary new vehicle that departs from the past to become a sort of global product, yet some claims might be exaggerated.

According to the most recent report from GM Inside News, the C7 will indeed have some sort of European styling, but it won’t change all that much from the C6 model. If this proves to be correct, than we can say goodbye to the slit-window rear configuration, which is sort of a shame.

As for what’s under the bonnet, GM Inside News says we should wait for a screaming little engine, as the 6.2-liter V8 will be kept with mods of course.

But to really sell the car GM will have to address one major complaint from the global market: interior quality. Here, the automaker will use better materials and finishes, with one of the biggest changes being an infotainment display in the middle.

The C7 is expected to reveal all of its cards in mid-2013 as a 2014 model. The new design desperately needs to appeal to younger customers, as sales have dropped to 12,624 Corvettes last year, the lowest level since the early 60s. In the past decade, the best year was 2006, when 36,518 sportscars found new homes, which is about three times the current result.
