The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 isn’t exactly the kind of car you’d expect to see with a twin turbo setup, but we’re here to give you just that. Redline Motorsports has recently pleased a customer who apparently wanted a ZL1... sleeper.
Sure, dropping the supercharger in favor of a twin turbo setup may be seen as purely unethical by some, but since the client wanted to be special, Redline made it happen.
The 6.2-liter V8 was gifted with an IPS Motorsport twin turbo kit including 62.5-mm Garett 35R billet turbochargers, TiAL wastegates, as well as air-to-air intercooler mounted up front. As for the intake manifold, the V8 now uses an LS3 item.
They also gifted the ZL1 with a set of Injector Dynamics 850cc units and, of course, a new ECU map. The result? A dyno sheet showing 646 RWHP and 653 lb-ft (Nm) of toruqe - you can see the pleasingly flat curves in the image gallery below.
The owner wanted to keep things streetable, so the stock converter and 6L90E automatic gearbox were left untouched.
