Redesigned for 2014, the Cadillac CTS is longer yet lighter. This is the car that will change any preconceived notions America has right now about the German automakers and their superiority. In fact, forget America, the CTS will be able to change the world as long as the sales network is in place.
We still don't have the CTS-V, but the big sedan is will shift with east and deliver joy to the driver in V Sport trim, where GM's first biturbo V6 was fitted.

Starting our at $46,025, including a $925 destination charge, the CTS should be affordable enough to be considered affordable American luxury. That's basically it. The engineers have done their job and its up to the marketing folks to promote the car, with commercials a little bit like these ones right here.

Keeping the CTS light was a big deal for the engineers. The new model is several hundred pounds lighter before, yet its longer. The BMW 5 Series isn't really a rival in this aspect, which is the way a Cadillac should be all along.

The 2014 Cadillac CTS is offered with three powertrains. A 272-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is standard and rated for 20/30 mpg city/highway. A 321-hp naturally aspirated V-6 is available. Rear-wheel drive is standard; all-wheel drive is optional. Exclusive to the rear-wheel-drive CTS Vsport is the all-new 420-hp 3.6-liter Cadillac twin-turbo V6 engine.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
