The EPA has just released fuel economy figures for the 2014 BMW 328d and it looks like the new diesel-powered 3 Series will conquer the US market with highway estimated of up to 45 miles per gallon.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the rear-wheel drive version of the 328d will return no less than 32 miles per gallon in the city, 45 miles per gallon on the highway and 37 mpg combined.
This makes it way better than the smaller Volkswagen Jetta and just 1 mpg highway short of the new Chevrolet Cruze Clean Diesel which, let’s face it, has nothing on the 328d.
The EPA also published efficiency numbers for the all-wheel drive version as well, and it looks like the xDrive (including the wagon version) will return 31 mpg in the city, 43 mpg on the highway, and 35 mpg combined. Too bad there’s no actual rival for the 328d in the United States, we’d love to have some competition. Are you reading this Mercedes?
