US Market Will Receive a Whole New Set of Diesel BMWs

The US market is defined by the usage of huge amounts of petrol and many europeans complain about the lack of diesel at the petrol stations all around the USA when they're trying to use their cars on American soil.

However that doesn't mean diesel is not available on the American continent. It just means that it's less common than gas. Diesel cars are also less popular amongst the US overall market mainly because of it's "shaky" and "noisy" feel but also because of these petrol station issues.

The problem is that everyone else in the world is using more and more diesel excepting the USA. Current forecasts show that diesel will overtake petrol by 2020 in market demand. That means that the USA will also have to adapt to this new trend.

BMW is currently on top of this new situation and announced that a new set of diesel engines will be available in the USA starting with this year. The 3 Series will be available in the US in the Touring version with a new diesel engine for the American market on the 328d model.

The F10 5 Series LCI will be available in the US with the 3-liter turbocharged diesel engine that is currently available on the 530d in Europe but not yet on the American continent.

However, some diesel will be leaving the US market as it is the case on the new X5. BMW's SAV will be produced at the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina and will not be featuring the diesel engine any more for the North American market.
