BMW USA has recently set the 2014 3 Series GT configurator free online, so it is time for us to start playing with the various bits and pieces of the model. As we previously told you, the vehicle is being launched as a 328i and 335i, both sending power to the road via BMW’s xDrive system.
The 328i uses a two-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine delivering 245 HP and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque, which works with a standard 8-speed automatic tranny. The vehicle, which covers the 0 to 62 mph sprint in a tad over 6 seconds, offers a mixed cycle fuel efficiency of 36.8 mpg (6.4 l/100 km) - European cycle. The vehicle can be yours starting from $41,450.
As for the 335i, this features a turbocharged 3-liter straight six, which churns out 306 HP and 300 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque. Mated to the same 8-speed auto, the engine sends the car past the 62 mph mark in 5.4 seconds and offers an efficiency of 30.5 mpg (7.7 liters per 100 km).
The vehicle comes with a starting price of $46,850.
