German automaker Audi has revealed US pricing information and EPA fuel economy estimates for its brand-new 2014 Q5 TDI. Offered for the very first time with a diesel engine in the United States, the North-American Q5 TDI boasts 240 HP and 428 lb-ft of torque.
The new V6 mill allows the compact crossover to reach 60 mph in only 6.5 seconds, while EPA estimated fuel efficiency is rated at 24 city, 31 highway and 27 combined mpg. Besides the new engine, the 2014 Q5 TDI also gained a wide range of exterior updates, including new metallic colors (Maya Brown, Volcano Red, Lava Gray) and aluminum roof rails.
Inside, the SUV comes with advanced technology features as standard, such as the MMI Navigation system, and luxurious leather. Audi’s renowned quattro all-wheel drive system is also available on the 2014 Q5 TDI. The expansion of the 2014 Q5 model line in the United States will also include the addition of the Audi SQ5.
Furthermore, Q5 models with four-cylinder 2.0T, six-cylinder 3.0T engines, and hybrid powertrains will become available in 2014.
