XU is the last electric bike from notorious manufacturer Zero to receive a nice update for the 2013 season.
The 2013 XU is Zero's response to all those who have been looking for a nice electric bike fit for commuting and still fun, a dependable city toy and a trustworthy everyday companion. Zero XU is the least powerful bike in the entire 2013 family, but this doesn't mean it's weak.

This motorcycle also comes in two flavors: the 2.8 and the 5.7 kWh versions, with the smaller one delivering 27 BHP and the other boasting one extra HP, and both offering a 42 ft-lb/ 57 Nm torque. Now, if you're not entirely happy with the mileage of the smaller Zero XU, all you have to do is get the bigger batteries and have them installed on your bike. It's as simple as changing the cartridge in your small desktop printer.

XU benefits from the Z-Force maintenance-free drive train and all the other enhancements of it bigger sisters, including updated aluminium frame and all. Zero XU retails in the US starting January 2013 for $7,995/ 6,249€ MSRP for the ZF2.8 and $10,490/ 8,070€ MSRP for the ZF5.7.
