The Toyota Yaris was all-new for the 2012 model year, and the Japanese company has chosen to improve it again for the American market into 2013 in three-door or five-door liftback models.
There are no changes in drivetrain, but buyers of the 2013 model do et the the same equipment as this year’s version. On the other hand, people purchasing the 2013 model will get the “tech audio package” as standard equipment over last year’s model, though this does come with a slight price hike to $14,875. The increase is somewhere between $80 and $330 depending on the model chosen.
In the midst of mpg madness, Toyota has chosen to... correct its claims. Instead of the 38 highway mpg it got last year, the 2013 Yaris is only supposed to do 37 mpg.
“There is a lot of excitement in the subcompact category today, but the 2013 Toyota Yaris is at the top of the list when it comes to combining value and fuel efficiency with style and fun,” said Toyota Division Group Vice President and General Manager Bill Fay. “Today’s young, price-conscious shoppers want the complete package that the new Yaris offers: room for their friends and gear, along with a strong list of standard convenience and safety features.”
