2013 Skoda Octavia Spotted With Minimal Camouflage

The Octavia is a crucially important car for Skoda, as the Czech automaker undoubtedly wants to consolidate its excellent position on the European market, as well as other important markets such as China. After the set of spyshots we recently posted, which showed the Octavia full of camouflage, we now have a video of it, with considerably less disguise.
Now, while it may be underpinned by the VW group’s new MQB platform, the shape is eerily similar to that of the old car, and unless it was positioned next to the outgoing model, most people would have a hard time distinguishing the two. It will feature the same sedan shape, but with a wide-opening hatch, instead of the regular bootlid.

The car is set to be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, in March of next year, but after seeing this video and the spyshots, we have a pretty good idea of how it is going to turn out. One last question remains: the interior, which we expect will be similar to that of the recently-unveiled SEAT Leon and VW’s own Golf, so it will be more upmarket than before.
