2013 Porsche Boxster (981) Secrets

Somebody asked the other day why you would ever boy a Boxster and he immediately suggested it’s because you can’t afford a 911. But Porsche fans know this is simply a matter of choice, because it’s not simply saying that one is better than the other.
The Boxster is the car that actually saved Porsche from the brink. Without it, their lineup would not look the same, but for a while now people obsessed with power stats and sprint times have ignored it.

Rather than scrap the soul and turn it into something else, the Germans have modified the recipe a bit. When put side by side with the current model, the extended wheelbase and widened track become immediately evident. But look further than that and the long nose it originally borrowed from 911 design language is gone, instead the overhangs are really shot and we like it more this way.

The power upgrades aren’t that impressive, even by Porsche standards, but that’s because economy was a prime target. Let’s be honest, a fun car that gobbles up fuel is not fun any more in this day and age!
