The 2013 Polaris Sportsman 550 is probably one of the best choices in the half-liter segment, in case zero-compromise performance and accessories are on the day's menu. Developed on the same platform but powered by a smaller engine, the 550 is an extreme ATV build for extreme riding.
While it can be a serious fun source for casual rides and outdoor chores around the house, park or farm, it's deep in the wild where the 2013 Polaris Sportsman 550 shines, even though from underneath a thick layer of dirt.

This ATV comes in three flavors, with the Electronic Power Steering and Limited Edition models adding more to the already nifty game. All three versions share the same automatic transmission with on-demand AWD for instantaneous traction boost in tight situations, and dual A-Arm suspensions.

Engine braking and Active Descent Control are also standard for all trim levels, because Polaris makes no compromise when it comes to off-road performance with the Sportsman 550. A heavy-duty winch is also present in the LE versions, together with some nifty additions: a front cargo box for the black version and a gun scabbard for the camo one.

The 2013 Polaris Sportsman 550 retails for prices starting at $7,699 (€5,910), $8,699 (€6,680), and $9,499 (€7,290), for the basic, EPS and LE versions, respectively.
