Dual Sport Maps Needs Your Help

Fan of trail-motorcycling, adventure riding or just feeling better with explorations which take you far prom the main roads? Then you probably know the Dual Sport Maps app already. What you don't know is that DSM needs your help to keep the site running, as Google plans to shut down one of the main APIs.
With Android smartphones and their vast potential, adventure and dual-sport motorcycling has taken a huge step forward, and when it comes to navigation and route planning DualSportMaps.com is one of the niftiest treats ever.

Google announced they'll be shutting down one of the APIs used to make the Dual Sport Maps website work, and a site rewrite is needed. Joshua Oster-Morris aka CraftyCoder, the exceptional guy behind DSM is in need of $13,000 (€10,000), as he can no longer afford to dedicate even more of his time and personal life to rebuild everything. So if you feel that you can and you want to help, please donate to Dual Sport Maps and spread the word.

Here's a word from Joshua himself: "This website was started in the fall of 2010 by myself. It has grown in complexity and function over the years and now includes top notch searching, editing, and mobile capabilities.

You can even upload your own custom maps that I will turn into tiles and project on top of the Google map. I personally wrote and maintain the website. I provide all the "customer service" and hosting services (which themselves have a cost of >$1000/month). The money raised will go cover my labor during rewrite process.

The new subscription link (near the login button) will be used to collect money in advance so there is a war chest the next time we need resources to get the website fixed."
